WORKING AT HEIGHTS

 Working At Height Safety

Provides workers with the knowledge and skills to safely work at height in a range of situations.

AOTA Working at Heights Training has been structured to ensure all employees, working above a certain level, understand and are able to practice height safety and fall prevention procedures. Although fall arrest responses are covered, the primary focus is on fall prevention.
The Working at Heights Training is targeted towards all areas of work which have a higher risk of falls occurring. These workplaces include; building and construction worksites, repair and maintenance of roofs, high-rise storage areas, or other worksites where falling is a possibility.
Instruction is provided either at your chosen location or at our premises which have been specifically designed for this purpose. Work Safely at Heights is a national accreditation and any person who successfully completes all units is certified to work at heights anywhere in Australia.
Working at heights is a high risk activity and a leading cause of death and serious injury in Australia.

Between 1 January 2003 and 31 December 2015:

359 workers were killed following a fall from a height—11% of all workers killed over this period.
Half of these falls involved falling three metres or less.
The greatest number of fatalities involved falling from roofs (59), ladders (54), vehicles (27) and horses (33).
Workers aged 45 years and over made up 65% of those who died.
The construction industry accounted for 37% of falls-related fatalities.
