Where Else Can You Use Tubular Steel?

We like tubular steel fencing! Its sturdiness and looks are only a few of the reasons why. In this blog post, we will focus on tubular steel, however not for fencing purposes, but rather we will look at other possibilities where tubular steel can be used.

Sometimes, tubular steel is also called steel tubing. Also, there are wide-ranging types of tubular steel. It can be very simple or decorative, depending on the function or the purpose it is meant to serve.

If to think about common uses of tubular steel excluding tubular steel fencing, the first thing that may come to our minds is construction.  Indeed, tubular steel is widely used in the construction industry. When it comes to building homes or commercial properties, steel is a very popular construction material choice due to its strong and sturdy qualities. For example, it can be used for stairways or railings. Tubular steel can also be added to support structures, roofs, and, of course, the ceilings.

Let's take a quick look at why steel is the best material for the job in construction?

1. Durability. Having a steel frame, for instance, can withstand harsh weather conditions, such as high winds, hurricanes and earthquakes. Also, steel can withstand very high temperatures, therefore it is fire resistant.

Also, when you compare steel to wood, then you don't have to worry about termites, cracking or rotting when using steel material.

2. Cost-effective. How so, you may ask? Steel isn't the cheapest construction material, right? No, it is not. Nevertheless, you need to consider other factors, such as how long will this material last and what is the cost of installation (labour costs, equipment hire, etc.). In the long-term the investment will pay off as steel is a long-lasting material and its installation is much quicker than the installation of some other materials, therefore saving time and money to hire people and equipment to get the job done.

3. Environment-Friendly. When you use steel as a construction material, you don't have to use wood. Therefore, saving the trees. Logical, right? Also, steel can be recycled over and over again. A win-win situation.

The transportation industry. Engines and fuel lines of cars, trucks and, of course, planes use steel tubing. Steel tubes are also used for gas, oil, smoke, steam and chemical transportation, just to name a few.

Similar to the transportation industry, industrial applications of steel tubes can be found in industrial machines, such as in conveyor belts and hydraulic lifts.
