Wightons Lawyers is one of the longest serving legal practices in Geelong, established in the 1890’s when James Wighton first started practising law in the area. During the 1920s, James Wighton merged with the practice of Allan McDonald and the firm Wighton & McDonald was born. Wighton and McDonald remained as one of Geelong’s premier law practices until 2000, when we re-branded to simply ‘Wightons Lawyers’.  

Wightons Lawyers has played a major role in the history of Geelong, dealing with various commercial and individual legal cases over the last century. Our experience and heritage has helped us to refine Wightons Lawyers into the practice it is today, a firm committed to offering a wide range of legal services that focuses on relationships and positive legal outcomes.

We have 4 offices in the City of Greater Geelong. Our head office in the Geelong CBD; and three satellite offices in Corio, Winchelsea and Ocean Grove.  

Night Service

We offer 15 minute free legal advice clinics at both our Geelong and Corio offices. Geelong appointments are made each Wednesday between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Corio appointments are each Thursday, also between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Appointments are essential for our night service clinics.

Family Law Clinic

For Family Law clients we offer a dedicated Family Law clinic at our Geelong office. During the Family Law clinic we provide a free 30 minute initial consultation each Wednesday starting from 2:00 PM. Appointments are essential for our Family Law clinic.

Legal Aid

We do offer Legal Aid for approved Family Law clients. Please contact us for further information regarding Legal Aid or to discuss eligibility.
