Introduction: Kerry is an accredited Sports and Clinical Dietitian with many years’ experience in various areas of clinical nutrition and sports nutrition.
Her career highlights include working as part of the SDA [Sports Dietitians Australia] team at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, and the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games with athletes from around the world. Her clinical work commenced at Peter McCallum Cancer Institute and then included Southern Memorial Hospital (now Caulfield General Medical Centre) and the Diabetes Institute. This was followed by Hampton Rehabilitation Hospital and Private Practice in various locations. Kerry was also a part owner of Recreation Health and Fitness in Armadale for a number of years and other work in more recent times has included the Victorian Institute of Sport and consulting to Tennis Victoria.
Professional Interests: Kerry specialises in sports nutrition and is particularly interested in helping young athletes at all levels perform well and enjoy their sport.
Otherwise, Kerry works in a variety of clinical areas such as weight management, diabetes, heart disease and general wellbeing. She strives to teach people how to “eat well” rather than to “diet” and promotes long term sustainable change.
The advice Kerry gives is always based on the client’s usual eating pattern and what is practical for them individually, and she takes into account the needs of those around the client such as family members.
Personal Interests: Kerry lives with her husband and youngest child in Aspendale and enjoys gardening and keeping fit by walking and going to the gym. Lifesaving has been an important part of her life for many years as her daughter competes at a national level as a beach sprinter.
Travel is another important aspect of her life, especially annual trips to Bali with friends and family.
