Introduction: Matt has been a full time physiotherapist at LifeCare Frankston since graduating from Monash University in 2009. A heavy involvement in sport growing up and playing in the TAC cup, AIS athletics and Armature Football Leagues, lead Matt to become interested in physiotherapy and injury management. Football, tennis, athletics, open water swimming, and more recently, endurance training have taken up most of Matt’s spare time.
Matt is currently involved with local sporting clubs such as Mt Eliza football and netball clubs, Mt Eliza Cricket Club as well as local running group Team Icarus and the Southern Umpires Association.
Professional Interests: Matt is passionate about rehabilitating sporting injuries both with hands-on physiotherapy, using techniques such as deep tissue massage, myofascial release and superficial dry needling as well as exercise prescription for athletes.
Matt’s areas of expertise are having a clinical focus on post-operative ankles, knees and shoulders as well soft tissue sporting injuries such as hamstring, calf and thigh strains.
Personal Interests and Achievements: Matt’s most memorable achievements have included winning an A Grade Premiership with Old Haileybury Football Club in 2006. He also completed a first half marathon with Team Icarus, completed a first half iron man in 2013 and more recently completed the 100km Oxfam Trail Walk with the LifeCare Frankston team.
