Introduction: Reed is a physiotherapist who has recently joined the Lifecare Frankston team after spending some time working in the private rehabilitation setting. Reed has embraced the change of environment, really enjoying managing a diverse group of clients and striving to return each to their goals.

Reed became interested in physiotherapy from a young age after spending a significant amount of time being treated by the Lifecare Frankston team for his various childhood sporting injuries from years of playing tennis, football and athletics.

Reed has worked extensively with the Pines Football Netball Club since 2014 and Frankston Districts Tigersharks Masters Football Club since 2016, further developing his passion and skillset in the management of sporting injuries. He looks forward to joining the Frankston Dolphins Football Club from season 2018 while continuing his work with the Tigersharks.

Reed aims to create a comfortable and relaxed environment, working collaboratively with each patient to create the best management strategy in order to strive for the greatest outcomes.

Professional Interests: Reed’s areas of professional interest include the prevention and management of acute sporting injuries particularly soft tissue injuries and those of the knee and ankle. Reed has recently grown his interest in concussion management through working with local sporting clubs, and this continues to progress as further research comes to light. His previous work means that Reed is experienced in managing post-operative joint replacement patients of the hip and knee in particular.

Reed aims to use an array of treatment modalities including soft tissue massage, dry needling, stretching, strengthening exercises and general reconditioning programs.

Personal Interests: Away from work, Reed is keen follower of sport. He aims to attend as many Geelong Cats games as he can, and practically lives at Melbourne Park in the final two weeks of January each year for the Australian Open. If he’s not too busy watching sport, he does athletics and plays tennis socially.

Outside the sporting realm, he is a self-confessed trivia nerd and enjoys walking his Staghound, Tilley.
